This Indenture made between Levi E. Middleton of Franklin and of the State of Mississippi of the first part and Stephen N. Middleton of the County and State aforesaid party of the second part.
Witnesseth than I the said Levi E. Middleton party of the first part for and in consideration of the promissory note of the said Stephen N. Middleton for the sum of four hundred dollars dated 18th day of April 1843 and payable to the party of the first part two days after date the receipts of which said promissory note is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained bargained sold and conveyed and then by them presents doth bargain sell and convey to the said Stephen N. Middleton party of the second part all my right title and interest in and to the Estate of my mother Dicy Jones deceased late of Franklin County Mississippi to receive and receipt for the same in as free and ample a manner as I the said Levi E. Middleton party of the first part could have done or could do and to have and to hold the same to his title said Stephen N. Middleton proper use and (---?---) and heirs of his body forever and I the said Levi E. Middleton party of the first part do hereby relinquish all my right and title to the said Estate to the said Stephen N. Middleton party of the second part and do warrant the same to the said party of the second part and shall forever defend all the right title and interest in and to the said Estate of the said Dicy Jones deceased which I have to the said Stephen N. Middleton party of the second part.

Peace
Levi E, Middleton who acknowledged that he signed sealed and
delivered the foregoing deed as his act and deed for the purposes
therein contained.
