Services for Emmitt Milton (Shorty) CUPIT, Sr. 65, of Laurel, will be held Thursday, NOV.1, 1990 at 11 A.M. at The Chapel of Memory Funeral Home with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Adams County,. Mr. CUPIT was a native of Franklin County, son of Mrs. Premrose CUPIT of Meadville and the late John Earl CUPIT. He died OCT. 29 at his home in Laurel. He was the  Owner of Masco Wireline Service of Laurel, a member of Wildwood Baptist Church of Laurel, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle MCINTOSH CUPIT of Laurel; one son, Emmitt Milton (Butch) CUPIT, Jr. of Laurel; two sisters, Mildred VERNON of Meadville and Martha CUPIT NEEDHAM of  Denham Springs, LA; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Joyce WALKER and one brother, Billy CUPIT.

ROWLAND, ETHEL GUICE Died Saturday, Dec. 17, 1994, at Oak Woods Nursing Home, Mer Rouge. She was 101, a native of Franklin County, Miss., a resident of Morehouse Parish since 1969 and former resident of Baton Rouge. Services were held at Golden Funeral Home, Bastrop, at 11 a.m. Monday. Graveside services at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. O.B. Rowland Jr., Sterlington; a sister-in-law, Mrs. J.E. Guice, Baton Rouge; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Otis B. Rowland Sr.; and a son, O.B. Rowland Jr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, a graduate of Natchez Hospital School of Nursing and charter member of Grand International Auxillary No. 464.

Mrs. McLemore rites July 21
Services for Mrs. Vivia McLemore, 96, of Roxie, were held Monday, July 21, at 1:30 P.M. at Hamburg Baptist Church.
Burial was in Hamburg Cemetery with Franklin Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. McLemore died July 20, 1997 at Natchez Community Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1901 in Franklin County, daughter of the late Moses Miranda Martin and Lola Henretta Guice Martin. She was a retired school teacher and administrator with over 45 years service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. McLemore was a member of Hamburg Baptist Church and served at its pianist for 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Thomas McLemore, two brothers, and a sister.
Survivors are four sisters, Christine Turner of Roxie, Florence Wood of Laurel, Ella Mae Mill of Minnetonka, Minn. And Ruth Calcote of Prentiss.

Services for Ruth Gardner Babbit, 87, of Natchez Who Died Thursday, February 28, 1991, at Jeff Davis Hospital Are at 3 PM Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ted Hanawalt Officiating.  Burial Will Be in the Natchez City Cemetery under the Direction of the Funeral Home.  Visitation Is 4 to 8 PM Today at the Funeral Home.  She Was Born August 10, 1903, in Franklin County, the Daughter of Samuel Bowen and Adelaide Whitehead Gardner.  She Was a Retired Private Duty Nurse.  She Was a Member of the First Presbyterian Church and Was a Member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Survivors Include Three Daughters, Mattie Babbit Duvic of Baton Rouge Louisiana, Frances Babbit Norgaard of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Dunbar Babbit Denham of Medford Lakes N.j.;  Two Sisters Mabel Gardner Swarner of Baton Rouge, and Hazel Gardner Martin of Biloxi;  9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-gr! andchildren.  Pallbearers Are Frederick W. Newcomb, Richard D. Newcomb, Dr. Robert C. Duvic, Dr. William D. Duvic, Stephen W. Denham Jr. and Charles Ramsey.  Honorary Pallbearers Will Be Waring Bennett, Dr. James Boudreaux, Stephen W. Denham, John Ramsey, Byron Petty, Carrol Norgaard, Steven Schwenk, and Captain William "Bill" Carroll.  The Family Requests Memorial Donations Be Made to the First Presbyterian Church in Natchez.

Today at the Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Bill Cotton and Donald Privett Officiating.  Burial Is in the Harrisonburg Cemetery under the Direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.  Visitation Is at the Church until Service Time Today.  She Was Born Sept 13, 1912, in Liberty, The Daughter of Joseph Corbin and Annie Freeman Corbin.  She Was a Native of Liberty and Has Been a Resident of Harrisonburg for 42 Yrs.  She Was a Member of the Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church.  She Was Preceded in Death by Her Husband, Sidney Wyles.  Survivors Include Three Sons, Lamar Wyles of Harrisonburg, Charles Wyles of Jonesville, La. And Frank Wyles of San Francisco Calif.; Three Daughters, Margaret Henderson of Harrisonburg, Margie Davis of Shreveport, and Ruby Friend! of Tioga La.; 15 Grandchildren; and 20 Great-grandchildren.

McNair Officiating.  Burial Will Be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Winnsboro, under the Direction of the Funeral Home.  Visitation Will Be 9 Am until Service Time Today at the Funeral Home.  She Was Born Sept. 22, 1922, in Winnfield La., the Daughter of Joseph Bridges and Mary Barton Bridges.  She Has Been a Resident of Concordia Parish since 1957 and Was a Retired Nurses Aide.  She Was a Member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church.  Survivors Include Her Husband Harold Cupit of Ferriday; Two Sons, James M. Hansford of Tallulah La. And Billy R. Hansford of Vidalia La;  Four Daughters, Glenda Epperson of Baker La. Louise Moorehead of Natchez, Judy Bowen of Sterlington, La. And Diane Wyles of Orange Texas;  Two Step-daughters, Lougenie! Leonard of Batchelor La. And Debbie Beach of Urolda, Texas; One Brother Elbert J. Services for Carl Wayne Case, 64 of Smackover Arkansas, Formerly of Natchez, Who Died Wednesday, March 6, 1991 at Eldorado Hospital, Are at 4 PM Saturday, March 9, L99l at Young's Chapel in Eldorado, with Bishops Hershel Smith and Ralph Meadows Officiating.  Burial Will Be at Smackover Cemetery under the Direction of Young's Funeral Home.  He Was Born July 17, 1926 in Yale Oklahoma, the Son of Elmer Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Brickfirld Case.  He Was a Retired Power Plant Supervisor with International Paper Company in Natchez, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War Two and Lived in the Smackover Area for the Last Nine Years.  Survivors Include His Wife Wanda L. Case of Smackover Arkansas, One Son Wayne L. Case of Myakka City Florida, One Daughter Mary Ella Canada of Salt Lake City, Utah, His Father Elmer Case of Buna Texas, His Step Mother Bessie Ruth Case of Buna, a Sister Bonnie E. Black of Wilton Oklahoma and Four Grandchildren.

King of Meadville;  Six Daughters, Jo Buchel of Dallas Texas, Carol Ann Zumbro, Linda Ruth Sullivan and Frankie King All of Meadville, Johnnie Darby of Batesville, and Donna Kay Manning of Meadville;  One Son, Richard G. (Ricky) King Jr. of Meadville;  12 Grandchildren; Four Great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers Are Alton Pate, Joey McNulty, Sammy Wood, Wayne McMasters, Elton Lewis, Glen Zumbro.

Today at Doty Road Church of God with Dennis Houston Officiating.  Burial Will Be in the Church Cemetery under the Direction of Concordia Funeral Home.  She Was Born Sept. 2, 1916, in Lismore, the Daughter of Amos and Mary Williams Carter.  She Was a Homemaker.  Survivors Include Her Husband, Jimmie Lewis of Monterey;  Two Sisters, Bertha Taylor of Milwaukee, and Mandy James of Gilbert;  and a Number of Other Relatives.  Pallbearers Are Her Nephews, L.A. Anderson,  R.A. Anderson, Leto Anderson, Albert Carter, Ned James and Larry Finley.
 


Walter Davis, Jr. 

Graveside Services for Walter Davis Jr. 76, of New Orleans, Who Died Friday, March 22, 199l, in an Auto Accident in Gloster, Were at Noon Sunday, March 24, at the Metairie Cemetery under the Direction of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home.  He Was an Art Collector and Philanthropist and a Life Long Resident of New Orleans.  He Was a Graduate of Tulane University.  He Was Retired President of Malter International. Corp. And Had Been President of Safeway Exterminating Company.   He Was President of the Davis Family Fund, the Source of His and His Wife's Contributions to Arts and Educational Organizations, and Was Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka.  Survivors Include Two Sons, Rodney Davis and Walter Davis Iii of Natchez;  a Daughter, Patricia Lou Davis Friend;  and Five Grandchildren.
 


Marjorie Davis 

Graveside Services for Marjorie Davis, 72, of New Orleans, Who Died Friday, March 22, 1991, in an Auto Accident in Gloster Were Sunday, March 24, 199l, at the Metairie Cemetery under the Direction of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home.  She Was Born in Natchez and Grew up on Jefferson Street in the Fry House.  She Graduated from Natchez High School and Newcomb College.  She Was Made an Honorary Member of the New Orleans Museum of Art's Board of Trustees after Having Served 11 Years on the Board.  She Was on the Boards of the New Orleans Symphony, Southern Repertory Theater, the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, the Arts Council of New Orleans and the Louisiana State Museum.  Mrs. Davis Also Was on the Louisiana Science Center's Advisory Committee, the Louisiana Arts Council, the Newcomb Art Advisory Council, the Newcomb National Committee, the Executive Committee of Tulane Center Stage, the Tulane Summer Lyric Theater W! omen's Steering Committee for Newcomb College's Centennial Exhibition.  She Was a New Orleans Delegate to Women in the Mainstream, the Women's Pavilion at the 1984 World's Fair.  The Contemporary Arts Center Named Mrs. Davis One of its Sweet Arts in 1982. Survivors Include Two Sons, Rodney Davis and Walter Davis Iii of Natchez,  a Daughter, Patricia Lou Davis Friend, and Five Grandchildren.
