My family loves going to Lick in the summer. The ice cream tastes really special sitting out on the park bench. Unfortunately, I've heard that the building was sold and Lick has closed business. I hope it opens again soon because it will be a big loss for Hudson.

We decided to try Penny Lick in Hastings instead of just stopping at Foodtown. I tried the salted maple caramel and blueberry jam, DH had chocolate malt and coconut chip. The texture of all four flavors was a bit grainy and in the case of the blueberry, VERY grainy. DH liked his chocolate malt, but felt that the coconut was overpowering and somehow fake tasting maybe they used extract in addition to coconut milk, not sure.
Just ice cream served at this small store front. Penny Lick manufactures its own ice cream locally. Flavors are imaginative and delicious. Service is quick and friendly. It's a most delightful place to enjoy yummy ice cream.
Hubby had a Brownie Sundae though the brownie was a bit hard, I had an Ice cream sandwich which was very good and very filling! The ice cream here is among the best I have had. It is super premium There is a choice of interesting flavors too. A great choice for ice cream in Hudson.
